How to Park Your RV Safely
Even the smallest RVs can be quite difficult to park, especially if you are new to owning and operating one. New RV owners are not always aware of what practices they should use to make parking easier. That is why Broadmoor RV has created this guide to better RV parking.
Check the Campsite Ahead of Time
If you know that you’ll be visiting a campground or tourist attraction ahead of time, search its website for the approximate dimensions of the available parking spaces. If you decide that the parking spaces are too small, try to find an alternative. You should also look into whether your campsite is going to have overhanging trees, light fixtures, or power lines that might present an obstacle when you park.
Find a Flat Space
You should always park in a flat and even space when possible. While a paved concrete slab should not offer any challenges in this regard, you may still need to inspect the area and remove any debris from your path. If no paved parking area is available, try to find the flattest, most even ground that you can.
Get Someone to Guide You
In many cases, it will be helpful to have one of your passengers get out of the RV and direct you via hand gestures or spoken guidance. This can be a great help when it comes to parking, so if you find yourself without someone to direct you we suggest asking a nearby camper if they can spare a few minutes.
