Winter RV Activities in Washington State

Nov. 21 2019 Miscellaneous By ____

Some people might think of winter as the end of camping season, but we like to think of it as a new phase to it. There’s still so much to experience around our great state, and some of it can only be experienced in the winter. If you’re not ready to put away your RV, then check out the list of winter activities around Washington State that you can travel to and enjoy this season. You can also stop by Broadmoor RV to ask our experienced staff what some of their favorite winter pastimes are. We’re in the Tri-Cities, Washington, serving Seattle and Spokane, so visit us the next time you’re in the area.

Seattle Winter Events

As the state’s most famous metropolis, there are a lot of winter events and activities to experience in the city of Seattle. Even some of the year-round favorites can seem completely different during the cold months, like the Space Needle. For the holidays, check out Enchant Christmas in T-Mobile Park or watch the Argosy Christmas Ship Festival. If you don’t always get the chance to explore the Emerald City, winter might be the perfect time to do so.

Snoqualmie Pass

While you’re in the area, check out Snoqualmie Pass on the other side of you. This is the perfect place to enjoy some of your favorite mountain activities, from snowboarding to skiing to tubing. Or, you can just enjoy some time in snow. If you’ll be visiting often, ask about season passes and extended lessons.

Our Recommended Campground: Issaquah Village RV Park

Between both areas is Issaquah Village RV Park, open year-round with full hookups and comfortable park amenities. You’ll also be near some great outdoor sites if you’re looking for a beautiful hiking area. Be sure to bundle up!

Razor Clamming

If you’re more of an outdoorsy type, you might be willing to throw on a few extra layers and heading to the coast to look for razor clams. Winter’s the perfect season to go digging and Washington is one of the best places in the entire country to get your hands on some fresh clams. It might take a few tries to get the hang of it, but it’s always a fun challenge to try and catch them.

Our Recommended Campground: The Driftwood RV Resort & Campground

Of course, the right campground will probably depend on where along the coast you decide to visit, but if you’re near Copalis Beach, then we recommend The Driftwood RV Resort & Campground. Since the 1930s, this place has been the perfect blend of comfortable and rugged, so you can get modern amenities with the breathtaking coastal atmosphere.

Winterfest at Lake Chelan

Every January, the exquisite area around Lake Chelan hosts the Lake Chelan Winterfest, an event that offers a wide range of fun winter activities. This includes wine and ale tastings, horse-drawn carriage rides, ice sculptures, live music, a fireworks show, and so much more. We highly recommend jotting this one down in your calendar, as it’s a great way to relax and enjoy some much-deserved time off.

Our Recommended Campground: Lake Chelan State Park

This might seem a little obvious, but the campground at Lake Chelan State Park is second to none. Stay just a short drive from the festival and appreciate the lake itself by exploring all there is to do and see in the area.

These are just a handful of activities you can enjoy this winter in your RV. At the end of the day, Washington State is bigger than it seems and you could spend every weekend exploring and still not see everything. But before you can travel around in your RV this winter, you’ll need the RV! Stop by Broadmoor RV and let one of our friendly staff show you what we have available right now. We welcome all patrons from the Tri-Cities, Seattle, and Spokane, Washington.
