RV trips are a ton of fun for the whole family! However, parents with small children will need to prepare for the unique experience of caring for a child while staying in their RV. While there may be a few bumps here and there, if you follow our helpful guide you and your children are guaranteed to have an amazing RV vacation.

Snacks & Drinks

Children often need quite a few snacks in between meals to keep their energy levels high and avoid them from getting grouchy throughout the day. Whether you’re driving all day in your RV or out exploring the great outdoors, be sure to have a number of kid-friendly snacks readily available just in case.

Entertainment

Keeping your child entertained during your RV vacation doesn’t just include the trip there and back—although you will want to bring plenty of books, movies, and games to keep your child busy during the ride. Once you arrive at your destination be sure to have a number of fun activities and events planned that your child can look forward to.

Bedtime

Learning to fall asleep in a new place can be tricky for any child, no matter their age. To ensure bedtime goes as smoothly as possible, we recommend filling your child’s sleeping area with items that will make their surroundings seem both familiar and comforting. We recommend bringing along their preferred blankets or bedding, their favorite stuffed animal, and a nightlight to help them relax.
